The Abu Dhabi Al Dhafra PV2 Solar Power Project is the world’s largest single-site solar photovoltaic plant. Located about 35 kilometers south of of Abu Dhabi city, in the United Arab Emirates, this project has a financing amount of approximately $1 billion. It generates enough electricity to power up to 160,000 homes in the UAE and reduce Abu Dhabi’s CO2 emissions by more than 2.4 million metric tons per year—equivalent to the emissions of 470,000 cars.

The Middle East’s climate primarily consists of tropical desert, Mediterranean, and temperate continental climates. The tropical desert climate, characterized by high reflectivity, high ambient temperature, and abundant solar radiation, is particularly widespread and ideal for photovoltaic applications. The Al Dhafra PV2 project site benefits from abundant sunshine, but it also faces harsh environmental conditions such as high temperatures, strong winds, sand, and high corrosion levels. These factors place extremely stringent requirements on the reliability of the photovoltaic electrical conduit system. The project’s general contractor meticulously evaluated several well-known global photovoltaic conduit suppliers and ultimately selected Ctube as the electrical conduit supplier for this project.

Ctube’s solar corrugated conduit was chosen for this project. These conduits are designed to withstand harsh natural environments, offering excellent UV resistance and high-temperature tolerance. Ordinary PVC conduits tend to fade and crack when exposed to prolonged sunlight or UV rays, exposing wires to sand and sunlight, which accelerates aging. Moreover, once the insulation layer on the wire surface deteriorates, it can lead to dangerous situations such as short circuits.

Ctube’s solar corrugated conduit utilizes a special anti-UV production process, ensuring compatibility with outdoor solar power generation equipment. Compared to standard PVC conduits, Ctube’s products significantly improve performance under outdoor exposure and extreme conditions, ensuring the durability and safety of photovoltaic solar electrical systems.
